Internal Mobility Story
Laura Fragata Tavares
From Quality Assurance to Drug Safety: Embracing New Challenges and Growth
At QbD Group, we believe in fostering growth through internal mobility. Laura Fragata Tavares, who joined the company as a Quality Assurance Officer in June 2024, has made an inspiring transition to the role of Junior Drug Safety Officer in Pharmacovigilance.
"I love challenges, and I believe this move would allow me to grow both professionally and personally. It was an exciting opportunity to deepen my expertise in a different field," Laura shares.
After just six months in Quality Assurance (QA), Laura sought a new challenge and moved into the PV department, focusing on drug safety and adverse reaction management. The support from QbD Group’s hybrid work culture and her colleagues in Spain ensured a smooth transition, even as she continues to work remotely from Belgium.
"QbD's support has been incredible, from training to guidance. I felt well-prepared and welcomed every step of the way," she says.

When I first considered the move, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I knew I wanted to challenge myself. This opportunity allowed me to grow professionally and personally, learn new skills, and dive into a completely new field. The support from QbD Group has been incredible, and I’ve felt welcomed every step of the way, even working remotely. My advice to anyone considering an internal move would be: don’t hesitate. The growth you’ll experience is well worth the effort.

Laura’s Internal Mobility Experience
-
In my previous role as a QA Officer, I focused on managing the Quality Management System (QMS) and supporting quality control processes. Now, as a Junior Drug Safety Officer in the Pharmacovigilance department, I assess and manage post-marketing and clinical trial cases, focusing on the safety of pharmaceutical products and reporting adverse reactions to the authorities.
-
I was looking for new challenges and a chance to develop new skills. I wanted to gain expertise in a different area while using my language skills. I hadn’t planned for this internal change, but when the opportunity arose, I saw it as a perfect fit for both my professional and personal growth.
-
The transition went smoothly. Even though my role is based in Spain and I’m working remotely from Belgium, the hybrid work options and the support from my team made it an easy transition. My colleagues were always available to guide me, which made the whole process much more comfortable.
-
QbD Group supported me with comprehensive training and mentoring. My Project Manager and colleagues took the time to help me understand my new role and provide guidance. The support from the QbD Vigilance team has been crucial in helping me settle in.
-
I love the new learning experience and the independence I have in managing my tasks. Working in Spanish and Portuguese has also been exciting, and while challenging, it’s been a rewarding part of the role.
-
My advice would be to ask questions, gather as much information as possible, and don’t hesitate to take the plunge. There are so many opportunities within QbD, and internal mobility is a great way to develop new skills and grow professionally.
