Leadership Track Story

Jo Doucet

Division Head Qualification & Validation

  • The Leadership Track is not just a learning experience, it’s a chance to reshape your leadership approach, focus on what matters, and truly connect with your team.

Jo’s Leadership Track Experience

  • As the Division Head of Qualification & Validation at QbD Group, I oversee the operational activities within my division. I work closely with sales, HR, marketing, and finance to ensure our division’s success. The Leadership Track focuses directly on responsibilities I handle, such as leadership, strategy, and client interaction. This program is helping me improve in these areas, ensuring I can lead more effectively.

  • We’ve just completed the first two training days, and they’ve already been valuable. The first session on strategic thinking gave me tools to structure our division’s strategy and align it with broader QbD goals. The second day, focused on customer orientation, offered insights and practical approaches to enhance customer interactions. It was a great start, and I’m eager for what’s to come.

  • I’m particularly excited about the customer-focused modules, including thought leadership and customer interaction. Prior to QbD, my roles were mostly internal at a pharmaceutical company, so working directly with external partners and building a network is a significant area of growth for me. I’m keen to learn how to navigate difficult conversations and foster strong client relationships.

  • The training has already provided me with useful tools for my day-to-day work. For example, I now approach strategy development differently, using frameworks to improve KPIs and align them with the company’s objectives. Another takeaway is how to ask the right questions to gain a deeper understanding of clients' needs before delving into specifics.

  • These themes are helping build QbD’s brand and reputation in the industry. By demonstrating grit and external focus, we can establish ourselves as reliable and knowledgeable partners. Strong thought leadership also opens doors to new opportunities and interesting projects, benefiting both our consultants and the company as a whole.

  • Being part of the program with other leaders from similar roles within QbD Group has been invaluable. We can share experiences, best practices, and challenges in a supportive environment. These open discussions not only help us learn but also foster stronger working relationships that will be beneficial in the future.

  • The external partners have added significant value. Their expertise and practical advice have already made a difference in how I approach leadership. They offer valuable tips and strategies that we can apply right away in our roles, which has been extremely beneficial.

  • The Leadership Track is broadening my knowledge in various areas that are critical to my role. By applying the methodologies and strategies we’ve learned, I can improve my efficiency and effectiveness, ultimately driving QbD Group’s continued growth and success.

  • If you're considering the Leadership Track, think about the skills and insights you'll gain that will make your role easier and more effective. The opportunity to learn from peers in similar roles and gain practical knowledge will support both your personal and professional growth.
