The Team Behind the Work: Meet Finance
At QbD Group, every project delivered, every consultant placed and every client invoice raised has something in common: the Finance team was involved.
Meet our International Finance Team
As part of our The Team Behind the Work series, we're putting the spotlight on the people who keep the financial engine running across every country QbD Group operates in. From processing payments and managing budgets to integrating newly acquired companies and ensuring compliance with local regulations, Finance is a business partner in the truest sense of the word.
More than numbers
Ask most people what Finance does, and they will say: numbers. Reports. Spreadsheets.
The reality is broader than that.
The Finance team at QbD Group operates across four distinct areas, each with its own focus and rhythm. Controlling monitors financial performance, analyses results, manages budgets and forecasts, and turns data into insights that support better decision-making. Accounts Payable ensures suppliers are paid accurately and on time, keeping business relationships strong and operations running smoothly. Billing handles invoicing, time registrations, customer inquiries and cash collection, making sure revenue flows as it should. And Fleet Management coordinates company vehicles and related costs to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective mobility for colleagues across the organisation.
Together, these four areas cover the full financial lifecycle of the company.
"Finance acts as a business partner, helping drive sustainable growth and operational excellence across the organisation."
Behind every payment, every invoice and every business decision, there is usually a Finance team member quietly helping things run smoothly.
A day in the life
A typical day in Finance looks different depending on which team you are part of.
In Accounts Payable, the focus is on processing invoices, managing supplier communications, executing payment runs and ensuring VAT compliance. In Billing, the day revolves around project administration, customer inquiries, invoicing and following up on outstanding payments. In Controlling, it means reviewing financial performance, analysing variances and preparing reports for leadership. And in Legal, activities include reviewing contracts and managing corporate documentation across the group.
What all of these have in common is more than people might expect.
"People are often surprised by how much collaboration and problem-solving is involved. A large part of our day is spent working with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and other teams across the business."
No two days look exactly the same. Which, as Finance Manager Matthias Van den Eynde puts it, is precisely what makes the work both dynamic and rewarding.
Who fits in?
Finance is a natural home for people who enjoy working with numbers but do not want to stop there.
The team values curiosity, a collaborative mindset and a practical approach to problem-solving. People who like organising, improving processes and turning data into something meaningful tend to thrive here. Just as important is the ability to communicate clearly, because Finance regularly works with people across every part of the organisation, from Sales and HR to Operations and Leadership.
If you enjoy variety, want to make a real impact on the business and like knowing that your work actually matters, Finance at QbD Group is worth a closer look.
One team, four countries
Finance at QbD Group is not a single-location function. The team has people in Belgium, Poland, Spain and the Netherlands, each supporting their local business while contributing to the wider group.
Every country comes with its own requirements: local tax regulations, reporting standards, compliance obligations. The Finance team navigates all of that while remaining aligned on shared priorities and group-wide standards.
Weekly or bi-weekly cross-country meetings keep the team connected, allowing colleagues to share knowledge, flag challenges and support one another across borders.
"This close collaboration ensures that we function as one Finance team, contributing to the continued growth of QbD Group."
The distance is there. The cohesion is stronger.
The engine behind growth
As QbD Group continues to grow and regularly welcomes new companies into the group, often in new countries, the Finance team plays a central role in making that growth work in practice.
Integrating a new entity means aligning financial processes, ensuring compliance with local regulations and keeping the day-to-day business running without interruption throughout. It requires a combination of technical knowledge, clear processes and the ability to adapt quickly when circumstances change.
It is demanding work. But it is also the kind of work that directly shapes the future of the company.
Every new country QbD Group enters. Every acquisition that becomes part of the group. Every consultant who can focus entirely on their client because the financial infrastructure behind them is solid.
That is Finance making growth possible!
