🏢 What you’ll be doing

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Madrid office and become a cornerstone of our international Finance & Accounting team. You will work on-site, close to the business, close to your colleagues, because in a fast-moving, people-driven consultancy, proximity is how great finance work actually gets done.

You are not just keeping the books. You are owning the process, more owner of local entities, not limited to Spain, from accounting perspective, and being the local finance anchor for a growing international organization. You will also coach and mentor a junior accountant, making this a role with genuine people responsibility from day one.

Accounting & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards, VAT and Corporate Income Tax obligations

• Drive timely monthly closings in close collaboration with our International Financial Team

• Coordinate year-end closings across different legal entities, working alongside the International Financial Team

Process Ownership

• Ownership of local P2P process, but reporting to group finance team.

• Maintain and evolve the chart of accounts for QbD Group.

• Continuously identify opportunities to sharpen and standardize accounting processes across the group.

People & Collaboration

• Coach a junior accountant based in Madrid

• Serve as the first point of contact for local colleagues with technical accounting questions. You are the go-to, not the gatekeeper

• Partner assertively with business and sales stakeholders: you understand the numbers behind the deals, and you are not shy about it

• Keep the Finance & Accounting Manager well-informed on daily operations, risks and process developments

💪 What you bring

• Solid, broad experience in finance and accounting: you have seen enough to handle complexity without losing your cool

• Strong numerical instincts combined with sharp analytical skills and an eye for detail

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish are non-negotiable: you switch between the two daily, across internal teams and international stakeholders. Any additional European language is a welcome bonus.

• A process-oriented mindset: you do not just solve problems, you fix the system so they do not happen again

• The confidence to engage with business leaders and sales teams on financial matters, with clarity and without jargon

• A genuine 'can do' attitude in ambiguous, fast-moving environments: you figure it out
